ゲーム開始時から入るNPC。ゲームをプレイするにあたって基本的な事項を教えてくれるTerrariaの案内人。
他のNPCと違って、家がなくてもスポーンしますが、家を建てるとそこに住み着きます。
死亡してもしばらくすると復活します。

夜でもお構いなしにあちこち歩きまわり、ドアを開け、そのまま開けっ放しにすることもあるので、敵を家の中に連れ込んでしまうこともあります。
そのため、厄介者扱いされることも。
Guide Voodoo Dollを装備することでガイドを攻撃できるようになります。

v1.0.5でクラフティングのレシピを教えてくれるようになった。
話しかけてCraftingを選択することで専用の枠が出現し、その枠にMaterialと書いてあるアイテムを移すことで、そのアイテムを材料に含むレシピを一覧することができる。
新しい素材を見つけたらとりあえず聞いてみよう。

"You can use your pickaxe to dig through dirt, and your axe to chop down trees. Just place your cursor over the tile and click!"
「つるはしを使うと土が掘れる。斧を使うと木を切れる。掘りたい/切りたいタイルにカーソルを合わせてクリックしてみよう！」
"If you want to survive, you will need to create weapons and shelter. Start by chopping down trees and gathering wood."
「生き残りたいなら、武器と隠れ家を作るんだな。まず木を切って木材を集めることから始めるといい。」
"Press the Inventory Key (default ESC) to access your crafting menu. When you have enough wood, create a workbench. This will allow you to create more complicated things, as long as you are standing close to it."
